Cinema Album is by Andrea Bocelli.The album received a nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards held in February 2017. The winner of that category was Willie Nelson with his Album; Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin.
The lead single on the Album, ” E Più Ti Penso ” was written by Ennio Morricone, the Italian composer. It features in the 1984 Italian-American epic crime drama film Once Upon a Time in America, starring Robert De Niro and James Woods.
The song was re-recorded as a duet with Ariana Grande, the American singer and actress. ” E Più Ti Penso ” debuted at Number One on the Billboard Classical Digital Songs Chart. A music video for the song was released on the 13th of October 2015 and has been viewed over twenty-one Million times on YouTube.
The Cinema album was a commercial success for Andrea. In the United States, the album debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200 Chart, making it his eighth album to reach the Top Ten. In addition to success on that chart, it peaked at Number One on the Classical Crossover Albums Chart, making Cinema his eleventh Number One.
In the United Kingdom Cinema entered the UK Albums Chart at number three, which was Andrea’s highest UK chart position in over ten years. The Cinema Album is his tenth Top Ten Album on the UK pop charts to date, a record for an artist in the classical music genre.
