About Marc Gunn

Marc Gunn is an acoustic folk musician and podcaster. Marc was the autoharp-playing half of the Brobdingnagian Bards, a Celtic music group, with Andrew McKee.
Formed in 1999, the Celtic music group from Austin, Texas, United States, took their name from Brobdingnag, the kingdom of coarse giants described in the novel Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift.
The Brobdingnagian Bards split amicably on the 15th of September 2008 with Marc and Andrew going on to pursue solo careers.
Marc is an expert player of the Autoharp, an instrument in the chorded zither family. The chorded zither takes its name from the German rendering of the Latin word cithara, a phrase in which the modern word ” guitar ” is derived.
As a podcaster and promoter of independent Celtic music, Marc is affectionately known as ” The Celtfather ” by fans. Throughout his career, Marc has championed indie Celtic music.
He has given away over ten million MP3s through his music and podcasts since the late 90s. His award-winning Irish & Celtic Music Podcast has over thirty-thousand downloads for each show and is one of the most-popular music podcasts on iTunes.
To date, Marc Gunn’s Album releases are twenty-nine solo, eight compilations produced and as the featured artist and thirteen as part of the Brobdingnagian Bards.
