Tapestry Album is by Carole King. The album, released on the 10th of February 1971, is the second by Carole. It is one of the best-selling albums of all time, with worldwide sales of over 25 million. In the United States, The Tapestry Album has been certified Diamond by The Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ) with sales of over 10 million units sold.
It won four Grammy Awards in 1972, which included Album of the Year. In 2003, Rolling Stone placed the Tapestry album at number thirty-six on their list of the 500 greatest Albums of all time.
The lead single, ” It’s Too Late “, was released in April 1971 by Ode Records ( Sony Music Entertainment ) was successful for Carole. In the United States, it reached Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 and also topped the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart.
It peaked at number six in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, reaching number eight in Ireland.
The Tapestry Album was a commercial success for Carole. In the United States, it reached Number One on the Billboard 200 Chart, spending fifteen consecutive weeks at the top.
At the time it was a record for most weeks at Number One by a female solo artist, until the record was beaten by Whitney Houston’s 1993 Album The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack.
Outside of the United States the Album topped the charts in Canada and Spain. It reached number four in the United Kingdom, twenty-nine in Japan, eight in Norway and three in Australia.

Carole King is an American composer and singer-songwriter. She was born Carol Joan Klein on the 9th of February 1942 in Manhattan, a borough of New York City.
Carole has written or co-written 118 songs which have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 between 1955 and 1999. The feat has made her the most successful female songwriter of the latter part of the 20th century.
In the United Kingdom, Carol has written sixty-one songs that have charted, giving her the distinction of being the most successful female songwriter on the UK Singles Chart between 1952 and 2005.
During her career, she has won four Grammy Awards, and for her songwriting, she was inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2013 Carole received the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, making her the first woman to do so.
To date, Carole’s album releases are seventeen studio, one soundtrack, five live, one holiday, eight compilations and three videos. She has released twenty-nine singles.
