The lead single, ” Austin “, was released on the 16th of April 2001. It was written by David Kent and Kirsti Manna and produced by Bobby Braddock.
Lyrically, the single is about a woman who moves to Austin, Texas, after her relationship with her boyfriend breaks down.
” Austin ” peaked at number eighteen on the 1st of September 2001 and spent twenty weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the 11th of August 2001, the single topped the Hot Country Songs Chart, a position it held for five weeks.
As of January 2016, the single has sold 929,000 copies in the United States and has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ).
The Blake Shelton album became a commercial success for the singer. In the United States, it peaked at number forty-five on the Billboard 200. The record also reached number three on the Top Country Albums Chart.

Blake Tollison Shelton was born on the 18th of June 1976 in Ada, a city in the state of Oklahoma, United States.
He started singing at a young age, and by the time he’d reached the age of twelve, he learnt to play the guitar, and by the age of fifteen, Blake Shelton had penned his first song.
He graduated from high school at seventeen and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career in music.
In 1997, with the help of Bobby Braddock, he signed a production contract with Sony Music. Four years later he joined Giant Records and then parent company Warner Bros Records after the label was closed in the latter part of 2001.
As of June 2017, Blake Shelton has had thirty-three singles that have made the charts, which includes twenty-four chart-toppers, seventeen of which were consecutive.
His eleventh Number One, ” Doin’ What She Likes “, meant he broke the record for the most consecutive chart-topping singles since the Country Airplay Chart began on the 20th of January 1990.
