Egypt Station Album is by Paul McCartney, the English singer, songwriter and composer. His seventeenth solo studio album was released on the 7th of September 2018 under the Capitol record label.
Production for the album was by Paul McCartney, Greg Kurstin and Ryan Tedder, who co-produced tracks ” Fuh You ” and ” Nothing for Free “.
The album is Paul McCartney’s first studio since New, released on the 14th of October 2013, which peaked at number three in both the UK and US. Upon release, the Egypt Station album received positive reviews in the music press. Michael Gallucci writing for UltimatClassicRock liked the record commenting that ” McCartney splits the difference between nostalgia and looking forward, checking in with his spunkiest, horniest and most biting album in years. ” Neil McCormick, music critic for the online version of the British newspaper The Telegraph had overall praise for Paul McCartney’s latest venture saying ” It is the sound of an old rocker at full steam ahead, determined to keep on rolling for as long as he can. ”
The lead single, ” I Don’t Know “, was released as a double A-side along with ” Come On to Me “, on the 20th of June 2018. Paul McCartney said to the Sun newspaper that he wrote the ballad during a difficult period.
” I Don’t Know ” reached number 164 on the Syndicat national de l’édition phonographique Chart ( SNEP ) in France. In the United States, the single peaked at number thirty-nine on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart.
The Egypt Station album was a successful release for Paul McCartney. In the United States, the album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 on the 22nd of September 2018, spending one week there. To date, it has spent five weeks on the chart. The album became his first chart-topper in the country since 1982’s Tug of War.
Paul McCartney also took the album to the top of the charts in Germany, Scotland and Japan ( International Albums Chart ).
In the United Kingdom, the album debuted and peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart on the 20th of September 2018. It spent one week in the Top Ten and to date has stayed for five weeks in the Top 100.
In Austria, Belgium ( Flanders ), Holland and Spain, the Egypt Station album reached number two.

James Paul McCartney was born on the 18th of June 1942 in Liverpool, England. When he was fifteen, Paul McCartney joined the Quarrymen, a rock ‘n’ roll and skiffle band formed by John Lennon in 1956. The group tried several name changes, eventually settling on The Beatles.
