The record had good reviews from critics with some calling it ” feisty ” with others noting the ” sassy attitude ” that Little Mix shows throughout the recording.
Glory Days is a mixture of different genres including dubstep, electronic, dancehall, funk and pop.
It became the group’s first album to have more than two singles reach the Top Ten. As of September 2017, the record has achieved sales of over 675,000 units in the United Kingdom alone. The British Phonographic Industry ( BPI ) has certified Glory Days 3× Platinum with sales of 900,000 units. Worldwide sales are estimated to be over 1.6m units as of November 2017.
The lead single, ” Shout Out to My Ex ” was released on the 16th of October 2016. The dance-pop track is about not having any regrets after breaking up with a boyfriend.
Some people interpret the empowering lyrics are directed at Zayn Malik’s and Perrie Edwards. It has also been thought that lyrically it is aimed at Gigi Hadid, his girlfriend.
” Shout Out to My Ex ” became a success for Little Mix. In the United States, it reached number sixty-nine on the Billboard Hot 100. In the United Kingdom, Scotland and Ireland the song topped the Chart. It has also charted inside the Top Ten in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
The Glory Days album is the first by the group to reach Number One on the UK Albums Chart. With sales in the first week of 90,000 in the United Kingdom, it became the fastest-selling album since Blackstar, the last record by the legendary David Bowie in January 2016. However, the record was broken by The Rolling Stones just two weeks later.
Glory Days has also topped the chart in Ireland and Scotland. In Australia, it debuted at number two on the ARIA Chart.
