I Fall in Love Too Easily Album is by Katharine McPhee, the American singer-songwriter and actress.
Released on the 17th of November 2017, it was produced by Don Was, the Grammy Award-winning producer and former member of Was (Not Was), the 80s funk rock band.
I Fall in Love Too Easily contains covers of American standards, also known as the Great American Songbook. Although not an actual book or specific song list, the term is used for the influential and famous American songs including jazz standards, that have stood the test of time from the early part of the 20th century.
In 2016, during an interview with WSVN 7News in Miami, Katharine revealed she was going into the studio to work on a new album. She also told that she was going back-to-basics and cover American standards with supervision from Don Was.
When asked about covering the standards, she explained that ” They are songs I am inspired by. I’ve been inspired by them for a long time, these old standards I’ve been singing since I was a little kid. ”
The first single released from the I Fall in Love Too Easily album, ” Night and Day ” was added to SoundCloud, the Berlin-based online audio sharing platform, the song was made available as a free download.
After having a premiere on Entertainment Weekly’s website, it was uploaded to other streaming sites and added to iTunes.
I Fall in Love Too Easily was a commercial success for Katharine. In the United States, the album reached a peak of number two on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart, to date it has spent eight weeks on the chart there.
It also reached number twenty-seven on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart.
About Katharine McPhee
Katharine Hope McPhee was born on the 25th of March 1984 in Los Angeles, California. She rose to fame in 2006 as the runner-up during the fifth season of American Idol, losing to Taylor Hicks.
Katharine’s self-titled debut album, released on the 30th of January, sold 381,000 copies and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 in the United States.
Along with an established music career, she has found success working in television. Katharine co-starred in The House Bunny and Shark Night 3D and had played one of the lead roles on the American jukebox musical, Smash. Since September 2014, she has starred in action drama Scorpion on the CBS network.
To date, Katharine’s Album releases are five studio. She has also released ten singles and ten music videos.
As a multi-award-winning recording artist, Katharine has won one Fox Reality, one VH1 Big in ’06, one Young Hollywood and one Women’s Image Network Award. She has been nominated for four others.
