Jagged Little Pill Album is by Alanis Morissette, the Canadian-American alternative rock singer-songwriter.
The album is her international debut. Released on the 13th of June 1995, it became the first record released outside of her native Canada.

Unlike Alanis’ previous two albums, Alanis, which went Platinum in her native Canada, and Now Is the Time, the theme moved from dance music and bubblegum pop to alternative rock.
Jagged Little Pill is full of angst, with ballads that talk about love, emotions and female sexuality.

Lead single, ” You Oughta Know “, was released on the 7th of July 1995. Despite the song containing explicit lyrics, it met with favourable reviews from critics.
The American actor and comedian Dave Coulier is thought to be the subject of the song’s scathing theme. Something which Alanis has neither confirmed or denied.
The single reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and reached the same chart position in Canada.
” You Oughta Know ” peaked inside the Top Ten in Australia and New Zealand. In the United Kingdom, it peaked at number twenty-two, with thirty-eight and thirty-nine in Sweden and Belgium respectively.
