Ripcord Album is by Keith Urban. The album, his ninth, was released on the 6th of May 2016 to mostly positive reviews from music critics. For the album, Keith worked with a wide variety of musicians such as Carrie Underwood, Pitbull and Nile Rodgers.
The album was nominated for Album of the Year at the 50th Annual Country Music Association Awards and 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards.
It was also nominated for Best Country Album at the 59th Grammy Award ceremony on the 12th of February 2017, hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Ripcord has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ) for sales of 692,400 units in the United States. It has been confirmed 2x Platinum in Austalia and Gold in Canada.
The most successful single by chart position is ” Blue Ain’t Your Color “. The single, released on the 8th of August 2016, topped both the Country Airplay Chart and the Hot Country Songs Chart, remaining there for twelve consecutive weeks.
The song debuted at number seventy-three on the Billboard Hot 100 and had since reached number twenty-four. It became his nineteenth Top Forty hit on the chart. As of December 2017, the single has sold 1,163,000 units in the United States alone.
” Blue Ain’t Your Color ” was also a success in Canada, where it reached number forty on the Canadian Hot 100 and Number One on the Billboard Canada Country Chart.
The Ripcord album has been a commercial success for Keith. In the United States, it went straight in at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart, the fifth of his albums to do so. The album also debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 Chart.
Ripcord was also a success outside of the United States. In Australia, it reached Number One, three in Canada, fifteen in New Zealand and number four in the United Kingdom. In Belgium, the Album reached number 183 on the Ultratop Flanders Chart.


About Keith Urban

Keith Urban is a New Zealand-born Australian Country musician. Keith Lionel Urban was born on the 26th of October 1967, in Whangarei, the northernmost city in New Zealand.
After taking guitar lessons, he began entering local competitions. He says his guitar playing was influenced by Dire Straits lead singer and guitar player, Mark Knopfler and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
In 1990, he signed with EMI ( Universal Music Group ) in Australia and released his self-titled debut album in 1991. The album, released only in Australia, reached number ninety-eight on the Australian Albums Chart. It was later released worldwide in 2005.
To date, Keith Urban’s album releases are ten Studio and four Compilations. He has also released forty-six singles and music videos.
As a multi-award-winning recording artist, Keith has won many awards including Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, ARIA Music, VMA, Grammy, Billboard and American Music.
