The Woman in Me Album is by Shania Twain, the Canadian country music singer-songwriter.
Her second studio album was released on the 7th of February 1995 under the Polygram and Mercury record labels.
Shania co-wrote ten of the songs featured with Robert John ‘ Mutt ‘ Lange, who also produced the album.
The album received favourable reviews in the music press. At the time of release, The Woman in Me album became Shania’s biggest-selling recording with sales of over 4 million copies by the year’s end.
On the 1st of December 2000, the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ) certified the album 12x Platinum for shipments of 12 million in the US.
In her native Canada, it sold 2 million copies and was awarded 2x Diamond certificate by Music Canada, the country’s trade body.
In the United Kingdom, it has sold over 367,390 copies and has been awarded Platinum status bt the British Phonographic Industry ( BPI ). To date, worldwide sales are over 20 million copies.
Four songs released from the album went on to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, ” Any Man of Mine “, ” If You’re Not in It for Love ( I’m Outta Here ) “, ” You Win My Love ” and ” No One Needs to Know “.
The first single, ” Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? “, was released on the 2nd of January 1995. The song, which has a country music feel, is about a woman confronting her partner about his persistent cheating.
Shania co-wrote the single with Robert John ‘ Mutt ‘ Lange, the first of their songwriting partnership. The single, which gained praise in the music press for Shaina’s vocals, peaked at number eleven on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and thirty-one on the Hot 100 charts. In Canada, it topped RPM’s( which was a Canadian music magazine ) Canada Country Tracks Chart. It didn’t chart in the United Kingdom.
The Woman in Me album went on to become a massive success for Shania. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Top Country Albums and Top Catalog Albums charts. On the Billboard Hot 100, it reached number five.
In the United Kingdom, it entered the UK Albums Chart on the 18th of March 2000 and reached number seven. It spent six weeks in the Top Ten and to date has spent thirty weeks in the Top 100. It took pole position on the UK Country Albums Chart.
Elsewhere, The Woman in Me album made it into the Top Forty in Australia ( 17 ), New Zealand ( 38 ), Norway ( 5 ), Scotland 9 3 ) and Canada ( Top Albums Chart 6 ).
The album failed to make the Top Forty in Germany ( 72 ), Holland ( 46 ) and Ireland ( 60 ).

Eilleen Regina Edwards was born on the 28th of August 1965 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The city, the southernmost in Canada, has a rich history of industry and manufacturing, primarily automotive.
Her stage name, Shania, is said to be of Ojibwa origin, meaning ” on my way “. However, there is no evidence that the phrase exists in that language.
At the age of ten, the ” Queen of Country Pop “, as she is known, wrote her first songs, showing from an early age a talent for writing catchy tunes.
Shania’s self-titled debut album, Shania Twain, was released on the 20th of April 1993. It had moderate success in both Canada and the United States, reaching twenty-eight and sixty-seven respectively on the country music charts in both countries.
It fared better in the United Kingdom, where it reached number three on the UK Country Albums chart.
Shania has gone on to sell over 100 million records, which makes her the best-selling female artist in the history of country music and cements her place as one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
To date, Shania Twain’s Album releases are five studio, two live albums, two Compilations, three remix albums and one box set. She has also released thirty-eight singles.
As a multi-award-winning recording artist, Shania has won many awards including five Grammys, four Academy of Country Music, six American Music, seven Billboard Music, thirty-eight BMI Songwriter. She has also been awarded two Country Music Association and twenty-eight Canadian Country Music Association Awards.
She has also been nominated for four Ivor Novello’s.
