Tiffany Album is by Tiffany, the American singer, songwriter and actress. Her debut album was released on the 15th of September 1987 under the record label MCA, part of the Universal Music Group.
The album was produced by George Tobin, the American producer and Tiffany’s manager. He has worked with a variety of recording artists including Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Kim Carnes and Robert John.
The Tiffany album features ten tracks with four released as singles, two of which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and several other countries. Reviews for the album have been mostly positive. Writing a retrospective review for AllMusic, Bryan Buss awarded it three and a half stars out of five and called it ” a fair debut for a young singer with a voice she’d grow into. “
Tiffany was sixteen years old when the album was released, making her the youngest female artist to have a Billboard Number One album and the youngest to have two back-to-back chart-topping singles.
A successful debut for Tiffany, the album has been certified 5x Platinum in Canada and 4x Platinum in the United States with sales of 500,000 and 400,000 copies respectively.
In Hong Kong and New Zealand, it has gone Platinum, and in the United Kingdom, It has been certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry ( BPI )for sales of over 100,000.

The second single, ” I Think We’re Alone Now ” was released in August 1987. Her first ” Danny “, was not picked up by radio whereas her second single gained airplay.
Initially written by Ritchie Cordell, it was released on the 5th of January 1967 by Tommy James and the Shondells, the American rock band.
Tiffany’s first reaction to the song when she was played a cassette by her manager and producer George Tobin was that it wasn’t modern enough nor hip. She was persuaded to record and release “I Think We’re Alone Now “, which became her biggest hit.
In the United States, the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 on the 7th of November 1987 for two weeks. It spent twenty-four weeks on the chart there. Other Billboard Chart positions were twenty-six on the Dance Club Songs and thirty-eight on the Adult Contemporary Chart.
In the United Kingdom, the single entered the UK Singles Chart on the 16th of January 1988 and reached Number One, a position it held for three weeks. It spent seven weeks in the Top Ten and thirteen weeks in the Top 100.
” I Think We’re Alone Now ” also topped the charts in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa. It peaked inside the Top Ten in Belgium ( Flanders ), France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland.
The Tiffany album became a commercial success for the singer. In the United States, it topped the Billboard 200 on the 23rd of January 1988, holding onto the top spot for two weeks, it spent sixty-nine weeks on the chart. It also topped the albums charts in Canada and New Zealand.
In the United Kingdom, the album entered the UK Albums Chart on the 27th of February 1988 and peaked at Number five. It stayed in the Top Ten for two weeks and spent twenty-one weeks in the Top 100.
Tiffany Renee Darwish was born on the 2nd of October 1971 and grew up in Norwalk, a suburban city in the county of Los Angeles, California, United States.
In 1984, George Tobin heard a demo tape recorded by the singer and offered her a recording contract.
In 1985, she performed the American television show Star Search, hosted by Ed McMahon. The show had eight categories of entertainment, with Tiffany finishing in second place overall.
Her debut single, ” Danny “, flopped and so her manager, George Tobin, sent his new signing on a tour of shopping malls up and down the United States.
The tour, The Beautiful You: Celebrating the Good Life Shopping Mall Tour ’87 started at Bergen Mall in the borough in Bergen County, New Jersey.
The success of the tour resulted in the release of her second single, a cover of ” I Think We’re Alone Now ” by Tommy James & the Shondells. The single remains Tiffany’s biggest hit.
The singer set a record in the United States for the youngest female recording artist to have a Number One debut album on the Billboard chart.
As of 2019, her worldwide record sales are over fifteen million.
In 1989, Tiffany left George Tobin and signed with New Kids on the Block’s managers Dick Scott and Kim Glover.
During the early 1990s, her music fell out of fashion as musical tastes changed towards rap and rock. She continued to release albums and tour throughout the 2000s with some success.
To date, Tiffany’s Album releases are ten studio and seven Compilations. She has also released twenty-four singles and thirteen music videos.
